Video8, Hi8 & Digital8

Video8, Hi8 and Digital8 cassette tape

Video 8, Hi 8 and Digital 8 was a extremely popular video cassette format used primarily with camcorders. Video 8 and Hi 8 were analogue, while Digital 8 was a digital video format. Video 8 and the higher performance Hi 8 was available throughout the 1990's. The format was capable of producing excellent results. Digital 8 was introduced around 2000, and is encoded digitally. This allows the footage to be transferred using a digital process, meaning that there is absolutely no loss of audio or video quality.

The only way for people to view their tapes is through the camcorder itself, or from a professional tape deck (which are both rare and very expensive). Instead, have them transferred by us so you can view them without the hassle of finding your camcorder and plugging it in every time.

If you are unsure of the variant of tape you have, don't worry as we are capable of handling all three types.

Transfer to DVD or memory stick - £12.00 per tape
